Working….working

As I mentioned in my last post I’m heading to Ohio at the end of August to film a segment on Quilting Arts TV.  I’m still excited about that.  Didn’t mention though, that I’m also writing a machine quilting tips and hints article for Quilt Scene, a special edition of Quilting Arts Magazine for the 35th Anniversary of Quilt Festival in Houston.  I’m still trying to catch my breath on that one!

I’m currently working on:

Finishing the Hoffman Challenge Quilt – needs a few more quilting stitches and the facing from me, then Anne will put the sleeve & label on.

Writing directions for a Benartex quilt that I’ve designed (this makes #2!).  The quilt is finished, so this is just the detail work.

Pattern testing a quilt for Benartex…I’ve since learned that this process is actually called technical editing…I love this process!

Ripping out stitches on “Twilight in the Bronx” to redo the quilting.  I’d done quite a bit however a few people gently pointed out to me that the black on black wasn’t working the way I intended it to work and this quilt just needs some more color.  I’m planning for this quilt to have a sister sometime in the future.

Customer quilts….several of them.

Writing the article – I have a little quilting to do for this and hope to get that done before I leave for Maine next week.

Not feeling quite so overwhelmed any longer.

I’ll have my 4th machine quilting class at the quilt cottage on Tuesday evening.  With each class I learn something new and enjoy the process of watching quilters get a decent command of their machines.   Next week I’m showing them feathers.  That’s exciting and I have to thank Ricky Tims for his demo at the Ricky Tims Quilt Seminar…after watching him do feathers on the machine I just got it!

its bigger than i thoughtI quilted this quilt right after the seminar!

Happy Quilting,

Teri

who is heading back to the machine momentarily!

  1. So how do you handle your down time? Sounds like your 40’s are indeed pretty good times! Congrats on all the kudos!
