Remembering

September 11th will always have profound meaning in my life
the clear blue sky – remembering talking to my husband on our way to work that morning about how odd it was

talking to my mother in law and turning on the tv just as the second plane hit the tower….

Hugging Sr. Imelda when she told me that she saw this plane hit the 2nd tower as she was driving down the highway.

the look on the lieutenants face as he talked to Fr. Bob…anguish, pain, fear & panic.

In a crisis, New York City at it’s finest.

September 11th is also my brothers birthday. Always was and now I get to remember him.

I remember today.

Teri

EDITED TO ADD:
Over the last week or so a lot of memories of this day, and/or political commentary has come up in my facebook newsfeed about 9/11/2001 this link to a politico story gives some interesting insight from those who were with and protecting President Bush.

15 years later and I still cry. I can still see the faces, I can hear my mother-in-loves voice telling me that the plane hit the 2nd tower knocking out the newsfeed on the station she turned on. In all of my 25 plus years here in the greater New York City area I’ve never heard it so quiet.

What I’m seeing now is that we, as a nation, are far enough away from this event that some are trying to rewrite historical narrative of this event saying that the United States is responsible for this attack. This is deeply troubling.

  1. I can still remember exactly what I was doing and I still get the same feeling in my whole body when I see the pictures. I know a few people that lost peeps that day. I still find it unreal. It’s a shame people feel the need to rewrite history or edit out the parts they don’t like or emphasize the parts they do.Two second history lesson: Bad people who follow the teachings of Mohammed decided American needed to be taken down. It didn’t work.
