I started this piece titled, “Serendipity the Third Time Around” about a week or so ago.  It’s going to be wending its way to a temporary home Monday.  More about that in a different post at a later date when I can.  It’s about 12 x 12, the fabric is silk, both the top and the binding.  I used Kimono Silk, MasterPiece, Nature Colors and King Tut over the surface for needles I used a needle appropriate to the weight of the thread.  I did use the seam ripper once, from the back and had no problem stitching over the area I’d un-quilted.

In a few weeks I’ll be teaching And Now What?! at Machine Quilters Exposition in Providence, RI.  This class has a twofold purpose 1) learning how to practice without ever taking a stitch and 2) to discuss your quilts and what motifs and thread will work over the surface of the quilt.  There’s still plenty of room in the class.

This is one of the motifs we’ll go over in class.

It’s one of my favorite motifs to stitch out with different thread weight and colors, each snail motif is so unique!
