<—- this one right here?

I have an article in this magazine on quilting Faux Suede.

I started quilting faux suede several years ago because it’s pretty (I have a love of solid color fabrics), durable and at the time I needed a new pocket book as the one I’d been carrying around was rather, well, ratty is a good word.  So I made a quilt sandwich and got started stitching.  As an aside I also quilted rip stop nylon to make a zippered pencil tote bag for a friend.

In the article I cover the batting, thread, tips for stitching on faux suede.  I created a small especially for this issue that is very much in keeping with the whole cloth style of quilting I’ve been doing lately.  microfiber arcsThe purse I made is still in pretty good condition though I’ve set it aside for a newer version and am planning on making a teaching/travel bag.

This issue of Quilting Arts Magazine looks to be full of some amazing techniques and who doesn’t love the coffee cups on the front cover?

Happy Quilting!
