The beauty of teaching here and there is that on some fun occasions I get to meet up with some really fun people. Pictured here are Jackie Kunkle, Susan (new HandiQuilter Educator), Debby Brown and Elaine Huffman. I love catching up with quilters, seeing quilts and supporting a great cause – keeping a museum open. Next stop – Kennebunk for a stretch break on the way…I almost put my pumpkin spice latte on the ground below the mooses head. I didn’t. Though I could have. I should have it would been fun…there’s always tomorrow.
I arrived in at Mariners Compass Quilt Shop Bath, ME about 5 PM to get set up for my trunk show. Most of the gals attending the trunk show were my students for the class on Saturday.
I love teaching.
Have I mentioned how much I love teaching? I made a bit of a change in how the Beginner class does their stitching. The best part is they moved right along and just had a great day. We stopped now and again to address a few quilterly challenges. Amanda and I are planning a teaching day or two next June – when we have dates we’ll let you know.
One of the quilters had a Pfaff sporting a decal from The Quilt Diva, Karen Boutte. I posted this on facebook delighting Karen. She loves her Divas! Thanks to Amanda I learned about the 3rd setting on the presser foot lever – to let it hover for machine quilting. WoW! Thankfully Amanda knew making it easier for the quilting to proceed without a hitch.
Autumn has arrived all over the place….I stopped on the side of the road to get several shots of the autumn leaves. Autumn is my favorite time of the year, I love the crisp, clean air, the aroma of the tannins, the crunch of the leaves, fresh apples and cider and oh…the COLOR.
Autumn is my season to be sure. One more week and I would have gone on a solo leaf peeping drive. Sunday morning I had a beautiful memory with the family: donut picking at Wallingford’s Orchards. Can I just say that even though the original building burned down a long, long time ago the smells stayed just the same. The quart of apple cider oh me oh my. This is one happy quilter. I felt just like a little kid picking out the donuts and the caramel apple dumpling for my Gramma. Gramma is 98 and is starting to show her age a bit okay a lot so I’m grateful for every opportunity I have to see and visit with her.
Tonight I will re-bind @play and send her off on her journey to Pacific Northwest Quilt Festival in Portland, OR.

I, too, love to see those “ah ha”, light-bulb, “I think I got it” moments in the class setting! Beautiful photos. We leave for that area in a few weeks and am looking forward to the trek. Hugs……
