Blogaversary

gallimaufry cdAnniversaries are fun. The Anniversary of my birth – I’m 45 and glad to have lived this long.
I’m married 21 years – truthfully my greatest achievement ever.
I’ve been a quilter for 20 years and am thrilled for all of the great thing I’ve been able to do, participate in and the quilts I’ve made. I started blogging in August 2007 and migrated over to WordPress 6 years ago today (February 5th). I migrated over because I liked the format and found it more intuitive and easier to interact with anyone who comments. *I admit to being a bit of a slacker in responding sometimes*
To me it’s interesting that I started machine quilting right about this same time. Yes dear friends I’ve only been machine quilting about 7 years. Taking a moment to reflect on what this 7 years has brought is…just…wow. Thank YOU so much for sharing this journey with me.
A week or so ago I started tidying my sewing room organizing fabric into things that I love; what was I thinking and stuff for students. I’ve found cloth from when I started quilting.  I’ve found memories that will be moved into other area’s of the house. I’ve found my camera. Can I just tell you how happy I am that I have my camera? I’d started looking at new cameras because I was going through good photo withdrawal.
In the spirit of a trend I’ve notice over the last 9 months or so I’m adding a 2nd word of the year: DARE. More on that another day.
One final thought: have fun quilting!

  1. Happy Blogaversary!!! Only 7 years???!!!! There is hope for me yet! 🙂 Truly, thank you for so many years of inspiration, laughter, and eye opening quilts. (I am still jealous that you get to have play dates with Melly, but I still love you.) Here’s to many more years of reading of your adventures and accomplishments!!!!

  2. Echo Christa’s well wishes!!! I have been seriously machine quilting for a little over 2 years (which corresponds with my blogging!). Interacting within the blog community has done so much to increase my quilting knowledge and further my self-confidence in the art (and you have contributed much to that!!! Thank you!!). May you (and us) be blessed with many more days of your talent-sharing through your blog!!! Blessings and hugs…………………….
