Consider yourself

at playI’ve been thinking a lot the last few days. It’s what I do well.
I’ve been thinking about what to take with me for the book proposal.
I’ve been thinking about pieces like this

<——
I’ve been thinking about how I’m a technician as a quilter. I really enjoy the problem solving part of quilting.

I’m going to try a new ruler out this morning that Angela Huffman designed with home machine quilters in mind. Really looking forward to it! In a few weeks I’ll have an interview with her here on the blog.
I’m off to the sewing room for the day to work on the pieces for the proposal.

Happy quilting!

Teri

  1. Am really curious which ruler it is that you are using. I use the few I have a lot (especially the straight edge (“Line Tamer”) for SID!!!!! Any rulers that work well with DSM work especially well with the Sweet 16 (although I purchase any longarm-type ruler). I’m so excited about your proposal!!!!!!! I know it is wonderful!!! Hugs………………

      1. I have one similar but really like the “Line Tamer” for the control I get when SID. It’s primarily (MHO) for the DSM style machine quilter/Sweet 16/Tiara where fabric is moved rather than machine. For a bit shorter straight edge I love the “Versa Tool” http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004KZ419M/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=36589974266&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12287992965923048633&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_4smw23rwom_e
This is a small ruler that’s very easy to manipulate!!!! I look forward to your ruler eval…………

  2. First of all good luck on your book proposal! We tell Broadway performers to “break a leg” so for publishing should we say “break a binding”?!?

I look forward to hearing about how your ruler work goes. I’m getting ready to try using Carol’s from Accents In Design (after following Amy Johnson’s work) so will be interested in seeing your experiences with another brand.
