I’m becoming a Lazy Girl

So sometimes I think I’m kinda lazy and while that may have some truth to it. I like taking the simple way out and following directions directions is not quite my thing. So when I got Joan Hawley’s Bendy Bag Pattern a bit of Dreamy Fusible Fleece, Joan’s Iron Finger, and Touch Up Pressing Mitt in the mail to test it out and do a give away i got excited. The book stuff has taken priority over the last few weeks. I needed a bit of a refocus so I made the Bendy Bag today one full one and two about half way.

Joan’s directions are totally fab. Joan actually presses the steps. I, uh, did not press as much as Joan did. My bag might look better if I actually pressed along the way. Actually I’m quite chuffed with it.

These are great bags for carrying stuff around: a little hand sewing project – think hexies quilters.
Power cords for phones, cameras, tablets, smaller cameras with their battery chargers will fit in here as well.bendy bag next 2 Safety pins for basting quilts. Oh the possibilities are endless. Endless I say.
And since the possibilities are endless I’m hosting a give away!
Included in give away 1: Bendy Bag Pattern; Dreamy Fusible Fleece and 1/4 yard of a SewBatik fabric for the outside of the Bendy Bag.

  1. quilting has shown me how to be flexible by using fabrics and patterns that are generally not my favorite. You can learn more by being flexible or “bendy

  2. Bending over a table or my bed to pin a quilt sandwich has made me a bendy mess sometimes

  3. Hmmm. Well, I bend the rules quite a bit when quilting. And I can bend your ear yacking about my favorite fabric lines. Some could even say I’ve gone around the bend in my obsession. . .

  4. I need to bend the rules a little bit when I quilt with the older ladies in my church quilt group.

  5. I have learned to “bend my interests” to include more modern designs in patterns and fabric.

  6. I am new to quilting, but have been sewing for many years. Quilting has made me “bend” the rules in my mind that come with clothing construction vs quilting. Love the Bendy Bag.

  7. Oh fun. I’d love to win this. I have been using plastic bendy baggies for all kids of things to organize my sewing room. So those plastic baggies would be soon replaced with bendy bags… Good for the EARTH!! 🙂

  8. Quilting has made me bendy because I’m sitting and then when I drop things on the floor…I have to bendy over! And then when I’m packing up projects, I’m bendy because of all the things I stuff into the bags…and I’m now using the word “bendy” in place of “fudge” when I meet with directions that I don’t exactly want to follow…so I bendy them!

  9. I always seem to be bending the rules/directions for my projects, and all the marvelous fabrics available have helped me be “bendy” about choices!!

  10. Quilting had made me bend away from my perfectionism at times…often seams are “good enough” nowadays.

  11. Quilting, sewing and especially LGD patterns along with Clover’s goodies have given me such satisfaction and learning of the sewing process to the point of all this has given me a brand new me. I only sewed clothing before but once I discovered yoyos and LGD Maggies, I can’t seem to make enough! Thank you for this chance to win a new Bendy pattern!

  12. oops….since my comment is awaiting moderation, would you please delete my original one….#17 and post this instead:

I only sewed clothing before but once I discovered yoyos and LGD Maggies, I can’t seem to make enough! I have yet to make a Maggie the original way the pattern’s instructions…. I’ve bent the rules so much that I should be named Bendy Queen. Thank you for this chance to win a new Bendy pattern.

  13. These answers are hilarious! I’m bendy when I dig into my stash to find the perfect fabric for my next project. Actually, I think quilting should count as exercise.

  14. Quilting has made me bendy because I have done things I NEVER thought I would or could do. I have learned how to quilt, taught other people to quilt, written a pattern that became popular, and enjoyed sharing sewing with non-quilters. I’m bendy!
