I haven’t had much time to quilt lately. I will admit to being a wee bit cranky as a direct result. I wanted to finish this piece a while ago however, time just is taken up with the “must do this” list that quilting is set aside. The studio whispers my name as I walk by, “come on in, the weather’s just fine” and “you need to see what’s going on in here!” and “here’s your calm quiet place”.
Today (Sunday as I write) I got to stitch. This piece has been in the works for a while. It’s the moon (big surprise) rising behind a couple of trees. The base fabric is a daiwabo taupe I picked up at a local quilt show. I nearly abandoned this for Radiance, and will do another version later on. But I picked this up this afternoon and just stitched. I have to say that I’m loving it.
I’m loving the differences in the shade of blue metallic. At a distance it’s subtle. The black metallic is working for me in such a fun way. I have plans…teeny, tiny, stitch plans for the outside of the moon…the longer I write the more the idea is taking shape. I love metallic thread. A lot. The more colors I see the more colors I want, the more colors I have the more the ideas flow. Whew, that was a mouthful.

I’ve never heard of diawabo taupe fabric, but it just sounds interesting…your quilting is lovely!
