When Elizabeth showed me the lace she brought home from Venice I saw something slightly different – the hexagons in between the floral images and thought I would give this a try. NOTE – I have Elizabeth’s permission to play with her technique.
Here’s my take on Elizabeth’s technique. The fabrics are from the Stonehenge line from Northcott. I will get to the quilting shortly and add circles in a light color. I’m finding a rhythm with the free motion stitching around the hexagon and leaf shapes. Yes, this is all free motion stitching around the hexagons. It’s not easy and I have to think through the process as I stitch. I like that I can do this appliqué and do some of the quilting at the same time.
Geoff and Jon of Generation Jones, the duo that’s using “Twilight in the Bronx” as the cover art on their CD, has posted their version of “You’ve Got a Friend”…Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met and had a lovely chat with Rayna Gillman the other day at the MAQGNet meeting before I dashed off to get my tire fixed. Somewhere I picked up wood in my tire!
I’ll be back in a few days with full pics!
Happy Quilting!
