It’s been mentioned that quilts & quilters are taking over New York City this weekend. We have a trifecta of quilting events:
Empire Quilters Guild Urban Inspirations Show
The Red & White Quilt Exhibit at the Park Ave. Armory
Folk Art Museum: Masterworks & Super Stars @ Lincoln Center Branch (Lincoln Center Branch is hosting a quilting demonstration this afternoon as well).
Alex Anderson, Paula Nadelstern & Meg Cox will have a program tomorrow afternoon.
I’m heading into Manhattan today!!! First Stop: The City Quilter! It’s on the way from the bus to FIT to see the Empire show. Renee has a quilt in the show this year, the 2nd show this quilt is in. Yay! Renee!
These weeks continue to be full, full, full. I am un-stitching part of the quilting on the t-shirt quilt. *shaking my head* puckering started to happen and I just can not live with puckering in a quilt! Once the errant stitching is out I’ll stitch in the riddle and get quilting on the rest of it.
I am in the midst of designing 3 quilts that I’ll be able to share with you later on. Lets just say that I get to have fun!
I’m finishing up a project with Rit and will have a new pattern on their site in about a week. I’ll link to the pattern just as soon as I know it’s coming out.
Happy Quilting!
Teri

I hope you saw my quilts at FIT. I have two wallhangings. one is a hand painted geisha from a Loni Rossi panel and the other is sillouette of an African woman dancing. I will be there Sunday. Hope you enjoy the shows.
