The double feature last night: White House Down and The Heat the perfect line up, a blow ’em up movie and a chick flick, perfect combo. I liked ’em both. The best part was the laughter heard from car to car through out The Heat. Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are hysterically funny. Oh my goodness!!!
Sandra plays tightly wound FBI special agent Sarah Ashburn; Melissa a foul mouthed local cop Shannon Mullins. The meet & greet with their characters is priceless. Price-less!!! These are both strong women, their backgrounds important to the story and their relationship. A good reminder to be careful before judging and be patient with people, you never quite know where they’re coming from or what brought them there. (That’s more of a topic for my other blog A Quilter’s Heart)
The language is a bit raw at times however its in keeping with the characters and it’s particularly funny when Ashburn starts swearing. Interestingly it’s a very family oriented movie. I’d say if you get a chance, go see it.
White House Down is worth seeing as well. The best commentary heard from a teenager walking towards the concession stand after the movie, “if Emily Kale would have died, I would have cried.” Yes that is a bit of a spoiler however well worth it.
Go quilt your world!
I heard that this is a funny movie. I’m looking forward to seeing this film either this weekend or next week.
