KNOCK! KNOCK!
This is opportunity knocking on your door: Sometimes opportunities happen at just that right moment. Richard Kennair of Global Artisans Online is looking for just the right person to head up the rapidly expanding wholesale division. We often see Richard at shows rocking the kilt, selling baskets, jewellry, hand embroidery designs, hand dyed perle cotton and floss, and related items. Knock! Knock!
The right candidate has strengths and an understanding of the quilting/crafting/sewing industry, shares Fair Trade and Equality for all ethos, has a proven sales record that includes making calls, is willing to work from home and attend (fully participating in) quilting and other trade shows as needed, and will be responsible for all aspects of the wholesale division as it grows from one to four product lines very quickly.

After the angel food cake flop and the new beginning with the new mid-year planner I finished a quilt over the weekend. My original intention was to quilt this on the domestic machine however necessity happened and it went on the Handi Quilter Moxie. I’m kind of glad it did. As I stitched I was able to move the quilt to get the entire border stitched first. I know right, this does feel a bit counter-intuitive however because there’s basting as you go the quilt doesn’t shift. I went across the top, down the right side, across the bottom, and up the left side. Then stitched the center, oh goodness getting into the rhythm of that center was fun. A few “design decisions” happened along the way however from the front it looks great. The quilt isn’t mine and I don’t have permission to share that. Also I will be getting the microquilter foot soon, when Vanessa and I were at Handi Quilter HQ that was the foot I loved the most! As an aside Kitty Wilkin is doing some serious hiking and piecing, check out her Instagram feed. I need to put the binding on this quilt, and right now I’m questioning my choice so I’m going to see if I have something solid that will work with the background.
Next on the frame is this beauty that I cannot tell you when I pieced it however it’s batik and Marcia Derse and I love it so so much. It will grace my bed very soonish, I thought it was going to grace our guest bed but nope it’s mine all mine (insert a hearty hahahahaha!) The 115” backing is from SewBatik and it fits on the frame with room to spare on each end, the quilt fits in with about 4” on each side to spare, phew. I’m quilting this with a variegated orange Magnifico. Quilting something this big makes me giddy. #quiltwithmoxie
I appreciate your patience as I get more video up on YouTube it needs editing and that takes time. I have things to edit out and speed up. I’ll be calling on my tutor sometime soon to remind me how to do a couple of things with the editing software.
