Teaching Beginner Color

And Tonight we go Live!!

On the design wall of the new classroom at Poppy Quilt N Sew the color wheels from Color, Thread & Free-Motion Quilting hang for students enrolled in the class to see. This is one of my favorite classes to teach for so many reasons, but mostly because it is a good thing to grow in confidence from the “it must be perfect and exactly like this” camp to “Oh wow I it’s so fun to open the box of crayons and choose!” camp.

I also love where teaching color started, in the quilt shop, guiding quilters through making choices for fabric and color for their quilts. It’s even more fun is taking these same basic principles to the thread work for a quilt top.
