oooh this week

Well this week has been full. The job search is on and I’ve applied for a couple.

I dropped off a couple of quilts at Christie’s Quilt Boutique – including the one above that is a sample of the one we’ll be doing in class – and brought home some charm squares.

Sometimes fabric says here I am use me right this minute. Fragile by Brigitte Heitland for Zen Chic (Moda) spoke rather loudly, insisting on becoming a square in a square based on the Squared Away Cutie Pattern by Debby Brown. The pattern calls for 2 1/2” strips to start with. Well, 1 1/2” seemed much more reasonable, that changes the size of the quilt.

Now, don’t tell anyone that I got distracted and didn’t quite follow the pattern. The first set of borders are on, one more set then let the quilting begin. Rumor has it there may be ribbon candy.

Next up – something by Alison Glass because the color makes me giddy.
