Quilt Market

Happy Thursday friends!
It’s been a full couple of weeks since Quilt Market. Teaching online and actually quilting. You can see the newest quilt on Instagram.

I had one day to spend at Quilt Market so I had to make the most of it. One bonus was having a driver. Wow did that make the day a lot easier.

The sunrise captured my attention so I captured it back to share with you. Sunrises and sunsets, because we have not mountains always seem so big. As a creative these inspire color choices in quilts. I do love an autumnal palate for sure.

One favorite thing always is catching up with Bob Ruggiero. We talked for almost an hour catching up on so many things. Also this is one of my favorite images of the two of us. Even when Bob is up over his hair busy he’s professional and fun.

BERNINA always has a fabulous display of machines. Of course I didn’t get any images of them. Nor did I get an image of one of my favorite people in the quilting world, Jeanne Delpit, who graciously permitted me to borrow a B570 to demonstrate on in the C&T Booth.

Speaking of C&T I finally got to meet Sophie Scardacci who heads up the Creative Spark Online Learning platform. She and I have been talking since 2020 about getting a class up on there. This time around I have the slides almost done, now that I’ve talked with Gailen about a couple of things and have the newest guidelines . . . and I may have stopped overthinking this process.

Handi Quilter has a stationary Moxie. Mind blown. I loved having the Moxie longarm when I did and one of the things I learned is that I am a committed stationary quilter because of how I like to move all over a quilt. This is good to know and it’s good to know that the Moxie is available in the stationary format.

I also had a few minutes to catch up with Alex Anderson. As I write it dawns on me that I’ve known who she is for over 30 years now from watching Simply Quilts way back in the 1990’s shortly after I started quilting. I’ve really enjoyed Alex’s work in the quilting world and how even when things seem to be going wonky she adjusts her sails with great grace. I went to grab the link to my episode on The Quilt show and found this instead: 10 Questions with Celebrity Quilters.

I just learned that two fabric lines from Windham are arriving at my doorstep very soon. One line is from Marcia the other is from Tara Faughnan and I am wildly in love with both. And I’ve interviewed Alex Rodriguez who has worked for them for years about his new work as a life coach. I’ll bundle all of this together.

I have long loved Cherrywood solids.
Loved.
Like really love these.
I was so happy to bring this delightful bundle home from Market knowing I had the project for Annie’s due on the 20th. (see previous post)
It’s not done yet (shakes head) because the zipper and I have a difference of opinion on how it is to be installed. Let’s just say the seam ripper and I have had some in depth conversations with the zipper and it’s still winning.

Quilt Market will be held in Houston November 14 – 16, 2026. I hope to see you there!

Happy Quilting!

Teri
