The Big “C” she called it hoping that the tests she was undergoing wouldn’t reveal that. They didn’t for her. The tests, though, did reveal it for my dad and for a friend, and another friend and. . .. Dad would succumb seemingly quickly to these mutant cells multiplying rapidly finding places to live outside of his lungs. From official diagnosis to his passing a mere 6 weeks, 47 days. Just enough time, yet not enough. There are so many things to say, to left unsaid and the grieving begins ahead…
My friends with breast cancer had different experiences each resulting in radical mastectomies, one choosing reconstruction the other not.
Personally, I am amazed at how each person chooses to pursue treatment for the particular cancer. My dad choosing not to fight, needing to honor his decision. Mama Makes Quilts | Living the creative life one quilt, and one child, at a time
Over the last few days I’ve been working on making a something and today (Sunday) the zipper install went awry. As soon as I get it finished I’ll show the completed project. In the meantime head over to byAnnie.com, scroll about halfway down the page for all the Sew Pink bloggers. #SewPink #byAnnie
In about two weeks I’ll update this post with links to all the bloggers. In the meantime enjoy the progress and the gorgeous Cherrywood Fabric.
Happy Quilting,
Teri
PS – I’d love to tell you to keep up with getting checked for the various types of cancer. It’s a good thing. I also know it’s likely that someone you know has/had cancer. You get to pick how you approach all of this. My role for friends and for you is to be present, walk with you, listen and tell you how amazing you are.

Thanks, Teri, for being part of our annual SewPINK Blog Hop. I so appreciate your story and your encouragement for those facing cancer. It’s so important for each of us to be aware and to make the decisions that are best for us.
Thank you for the invitation Annie! You are a gift and treasure in the quilting community!
