My Sweetie and I are heading out the door shortly to spend some much needed time outside the four walls of this hotel room that we're living in for at least another month or so. I'll announce the winner in a full blog post tomorrow. I thank you for your patience and understanding. While I'm… Continue reading Winner Chosen and a wee bit more

On Crunchy Coffee & Cilantro
I think my favorite shared-on-the-blog experiences are the Blue Goo, and the Squirrel in the House at Christmas stories. What I didn't remember is that my brother had a bird in the house? How does that even happen? Open doors and windows I suppose. Every now and again coffee mishaps fill this page. In the… Continue reading On Crunchy Coffee & Cilantro

And then: https://www.instagram.com/p/BhcZRiCjbIN/?taken-by=terilucas A New Moon Rises https://www.instagram.com/p/BhccwjOjuxr/?taken-by=terilucas It's really difficult when Creativity ebbs, especially when it ebbs because of every day life. It's glorious when it returns. Rejoice with me quilters. I have ideas swirling in my head for… Continue reading Something shifted
Quilts Speak
As I worked on this Impractical Color wheel I learned a little something. Giving the motifs a little room to breathe, at least visually, allows the color to speak, and the piece looks a little less crowded. The transition from red to orange is visually tight, reading as a bit overwhelming. The transitions after that… Continue reading Quilts Speak
Can you believe this nonsense?
On a bright, lovely afternoon the stitching started badly. BADLY For some reason a birds nest built up on the back of a quilt as I stitched. Wow. Evicted that bit of nonsense forthwith, started stitching again. Not five minutes later I stitched a big pleat right into the front. Well. That little quilt is… Continue reading Can you believe this nonsense?
Color Wheel
I like color. A lot. I like how color plays. I like how color sings. I like how color behaves, misbehaves, swirls, whirls, blends, hides, shows off and generally is itself. Joen Wolfrom appeared on Simply Quilts some long time ago, talking about color. She talked about the 3-in-1 color tool, how it's used in… Continue reading Color Wheel
