Well, where did that 18 years go?

WordPress recently notified me that I’ve been blogging on this site for 18 years. First of all, where did that time go? And secondly, there is a need to post with greater frequency.

So here I am today blogging away with my favorite movie in the background. Tidying up my studio from four weeks of on-line teaching. And having emailed back and forth with Nathania from Cherrywood Fabrics. Nathania didn’t get to go to QuiltCon – so let’s give her a bit of love and follow her on Insta.

Did you know I have a page on Cherrywood now? Check this out! Some of my very favorite Cherrywood Fabrics are linked up on there. I have long loved the look and feel of this fabric and the current quilts I’m making will have :

this gorgeous Velvet as the background fabric. I can hardly wait for it to arrive. In the meantime I’m still cutting and piecing blocks.

Over the weekend I went to a shop about an hour or so away from home and bought batting and a BERNINA Stitch Regulator for my B560. Okay friends please pick your chins up off the floor. No one is more shocked than myself. Admittedly it is something of an impulse purchase it was either that or an original BERNINA 830. What a toss up!

As piecing isn’t my go-to in the quilt making process keeping organized is an old/new challenge. I’m working on it so I can piece multiple blocks at the same time. Leaders and enders help so much along with pieces of paper letting me know both the block number and the color combo that I’m working with. This quilt is a delight and I’m really looking forward to the actual machine stitching part of this. As happens I’m working on several at the same time because if I’m going to do one I might as well do four.

In a few days share the blocks I pieced and quilted for a Color Theory class I taught on Lessonface.

Thanks for staying with me these 18 years through all the posting and the long pauses in-between.

Happy Quilting,

Teri
