fun, quilting, the joys of working

I’m a bad influence

Two different people said this to me this week.  I cracked up both times.

At the quilt shop where I work we’re having a sale this week.  Susan dropped by, while I was there, to pick up a few things for herself and a few of her students.  Because we’re friends and Susan is very sweet she would let me leave her and go take care of other customers while she continued to look around.  I’d come back and she’d have a different bolt or three of fabric for me to cut from.  I’d ask how she’s planning on using the fabric and make a suggestion she would take it or not and she ended up purchasing more than she originally came in for.  As she left she told me that I’m a bad influence.  It’s a tough job and somebody’s got to do it.

I talked with the quilt shop manager yesterday to work out a few details.  At the end of the conversation she informed me emphatically that I’m a bad influence because last week I brought in a few Dove dark chocolate squares and offered her some.  I had one or two myself.  While she was out picking up a few things she picked up a bag or two of Doves.  I had to laugh out loud at this one.

And I’m grateful for quilting, for all of the wonderful folks brought into my life through quilting, for the opportunities to grow and soon to teach.  I’m excited about the possibilities.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. The url for your blog is typed into your profile wrong. So like if someone clicks on your name from a comment you put on my blog or elsewhere…it doesn’t lead them back to your blog. I played Nancy Drew to get over here.

Now, I’m going to go nose about on your site…LOL
