class schedule update & “Twilight in the Bronx” revisit

Of all the quilts I’ve ever made “Twilight in the Bronx” is my favorite quilt.  It’s the first quilt where, after a lot of ripping, my quilterly voice started to really speak clearly & loudly.  While I have the 3rd quilt in the series is firmly in my head and somewhat on paper I’m going to temporarily put that aside to revisit “Twilight in the Bronx”.

The center spines will not be quite as wide and I want to make color changes in the star.    I’m making a background fabric change because I know now that once I start quilting with what I have for the back in mind … well I can see a “little miss sassy pants”  happening.   I’m going to draw the star on the fabric and work on the quilt at a quilt retreat in January.

I’m sticking with Superior Threads for the quilt and have some different metallics and colors for the parts of the quilt.  I can hardly wait to see how the new quilt comes together.  I’ve also found the appliqués in a different color way and they’re quite inspiring.  The black on black quilting will take on a different look and be somewhat more graphic.

I’m so excited to get started on this quilt!
