West Houston Quilters Guild

Happy Friday friends.

This was the only photo I managed to get.

Wednesday I drove in to visit with the West Houston Quilters Guild. I missed the rain by this much | |, the clouds driving in and out were a sight to behold. Mammatus clouds, so fun. Humidity and curly hair have a special relationship, where the percentage of moisture in the air may be measured by the fuzziness of a curly woman’s hair.

The guild program chair, Sharon, another member Paula, and I got the quilts sorted out for showing. I talked for 45 minutes then we had 15 for questions. When I posted the above image Keith Dommer recognized the quilt he pieced and I quilted. I will return this quilt someday Keith. One thing that is fun to share about working with Keith is our marathon email sessions back in the day when we emailed, and were in the early days (for some of us) of blogging. The quilters were so much fun and so lively.

I did get to share Color, Thread & Free-Motion Quilting with them. My favorite part of the book is the Needle & Thread pairing chart on page 70 and on the inside front cover. By pairing needles & thread well we can avoid a whole lot of “tension” problems. I love that C&T Publishing put the chart in two places for easy access.

Thank you for joining me today!

Happy Quilting,

Teri
