QRTW, Sew Pink – Binding it all together

Hey Friends,
Today is not my typical Tuesday of late. As my Sweetie left for work this morning I asked him to pick up some jalapenos for dinner tonight. We’re eating from the freezer to both make room and so things don’t get freezer burn from being in there too long. I’m sure you have zero clue now that happens. He’s on vacation starting Wednesday as soon as the work day ends so I have a lot of work to do between now and then, and a meeting to attend. Whew!
The quilting mojo is returning. Part of it is this:

There is something delightful about collaborating with this skilled women, each one has a skill unique to herself, honed over time as we discover who we are as creatives and specifically as quilt makers.

These are made for a binding class I’m teaching through John C Campbell Folk School and Lessonface. The class is four weeks, starts Thursday 26 September, is online and covers many binding techniques and options within those techniques. In an upcoming Quilters Rule the World conversation with Tracy simple piecing is something we discuss as part of a larger conversation. This simple piecing is often a way for me to “prime the creative pump” picking up once again the part of my being that brings great joy.

I’m also participating in Sew Pink with By Annie’s I’m making a notebook cover, I think some will be revealed when I quilt later.

I pulled fabric from Marcia Derse’s Art History line for the back, or knowing me the front. Who knows, we’ll see what happens as I stitch along. The pieced blocks are from something I did years ago. The full reveal and process will happen on October 8th.

On the sewing table are 9 patches that will eventually become something and who knows even part of the Sew Pink project, or the Binding class.

In a few weeks I’ll have an interview with Sophie Scardaci of C&T’s Creative Spark. I’m seriously considering putting the Binding class on there so these blocks may become part of that project.

I woke up stupid early this morning and am considering more coffee in a little while to help me move through this day. A few months ago I learned how to make my own coffee creamer using coconut cream, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, cardamom and a teensy bit of salt. I don’t do this often (and no I don’t feel a need to explain) and the result? I need more mason jars. Didn’t see that coming did you?

One last thing before I head off for the rest of the day: Quilt Fusion is coming soon! Use this link for a $20 discount.

So many amazing creatives teaching in this group.

I’ll see ya on the socials!

Teri
