It’s really hard sometimes

working on quilts that I can’t show you.  I just finished one and sent it off FedEx yesterday to it’s owner.  I’m going to start working on one this morning that also needs a quick turn around time.  And over the next two weeks there will be 2 more with very fast turn around times.

so for now I’m going to share with you, that I quilted this silk quilt for Kate Perri and she is having a one woman show at the Southern CT State (New Haven, CT) Art Department, Earl Hall.

I had a delightful adventure in Manhattan yesterday, wishing I’d brought  my camera for future posts.  I took the bus into the City to visit and have lunch with a client.  Watching the action with vehicles down 5th ave first through a construction site then there were two film locations along the route made traffic quite interesting.  Let’s just say that there are a lot of people who have no fear of buses whether they’re in vehicles or on foot.

The architecture around the City is incredible.  Oh my goodness it’s not only inspiring from the whole idea of piecing a quilt but quilting one as well.  I took a couple of pictures with my phone and was truly missing my camera.

When the bus pulled up to the end of the line it’s right in front of the FedEx office I looked up.  I get in, get my paperwork all done, called my friend & left her a message.  About a minute later she called me responding to my facebook message, it’s a good thing too.  When I was getting ready in the morning to head out I jotted down the acct number and missed a very important one, yeah, that would have caused a huge problem since the quilt needed to go second day.  Uh huh.  I handed my phone to the gal behind the counter and they sorted everything out.  I thanked my friend for saving my coffee deprived bottom.

As I walked out of the shop she got to share in the sounds of the City.  Perhaps one day she’ll come and I’ll get to take her to the City Quilter.

After lunch I hopped back on the bus and headed over to Benartex to visit a friend of mine.   Part of that journey took me through the pedestrian mall.  As I’m walking I’m looking for the phone number, which somehow did not make it to the phone and trying to clear photos that are no longer needed as the memory on my phone was hitting it’s limit.  There was a lady in front of me who was trying to decide which way she was going and in trying to avoid her I ended up dancing around her a little bit.  She apologized, looked at me and told me I have good energy, very good energy.  I said, “thank you” and moved on.

I love this City.
