The Quilt Tree in Nyack is a Stonehenge Solstice Block Party participant. See block to the left. The other day when I was in there Lisa had a quilt wrapped around a dress form like a skirt. So, so cute. The front window is always something to see, changing monthly and always has 2 dogs in the window. I’m stopping by the shop on Friday so stay tuned for an Instagram post. Check this one out by Millie Gross, the sales manger, East, for Northcott. The displays are so inviting.
Sewcology is a delightful shop nestled in Warwick NY. Warwick has a drive-in theater, local wineries, and apple (fruit) orchards. My sweetie and I enjoy the drive-in as frequently as possible. Cindy, the owner, has a lot of quilting, garment sewing and machine knowledge to share and is quite delightful. She’s having a “lets get new fabric in here” sale.
Acme Country Fabrics in Pequannock NJ is a BERNINA dealer complete with the Q20 sit down long arm. Next time I visit I’m going to quilt on that for a little while. The classroom space is big, and a group of quilters meets regularly to make quilts for a local charity. Acme has the notions and books we’re looking for, as well as home decorating fabrics and quilts hanging all over the shop. The front room is filled with a wide selection of gifts.
A Kaleidoscope of Quilts, located in Preble NY is located just off I-81, north of Binghampton. This shop is big my friends, just big with a wide range of fabric to fill in your stash. On one wall is a quilt by Debbie Miller, quilter and dog breeder of one of her Bernese Mountain Dogs. Linda takes good care of her customers and has great classes. There’s lots of room to work on your quilts.

Thank you for posting that Angela Walters video. It couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I’m tackling the quilting on a fairly large quilt and have been struggling not only with the weight of all that fabric but also with my tendency to self-criticise. Good to get some perspective and concentrate on enjoying where I’ve got to on my quilting journey and not be comparing ‘my best with other people’s perfection’. Thanks again!
