Let Your Quilts Sing

Happy August Peeps!

Way back in May (where has the time gone?) I participated in Mastering Color Confidence on C&T Publishing’s CreativeSpark Online Learning platform. Christine Barnes, Joen Wolfrom and I were hosted by the fabulous Amy Barret-Daffin to talk about the new book and also talk about one of our favorite subjects: color.

This week I get to share with you a conversation with Joen Wolfrom. I first “met” Joen on Simply Quilts way back in the late 90’s. The way she explained the concept of a split complement made sense to this quilters brain, allowing me to make Split Complimenterity – the quilt to our right.

Now I get to share this with you:

Here we talk about Joen’s Color Wheel Companion, the Ultimate 3-in-1 Color Tool, how she designed them and some really amazing information about color. In getting ready for this conversation on color I got my hot little hands on Color Play, second edition. What a treat! In just the first few pages my understanding of color grew like the heart of a certain Dr Seuss character.

I remain convinced that quilters need the Color Wheel Poster, Companion, Ultimate 3-in-1 color tool and a sense of play when it comes to choosing color for our quilts. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Happy Coloring

Teri
