I’ve wanted to teach hand quilting for a long time. I love the whole quilt making by hand process although I tend toward machine work these days.
Wednesday evenings in March – 3, 10, 17 & 24 @ 7PM at the quilt cottage in Mamaroneck. We’ll be using Jinny Beyer’s “Quiltmaking by Hand” as our guide.
The first class of the year at the quilt cottage is super exciting “Let Your Foot Loose, Be Fancy & Free” based on “Twilight in the Bronx” starts Wednesday January 27th at 7 PM. Feb 3, 10 & 24 (a week off for school break on the 17th). There’s no book for this class.
At the end of the class this is roughly what you’ll end up with.
Nancy will have the supplies list for this class shortly.
Then I’m teaching beginner machine quilting Friday mornings at 10 AM January 29, February 5,12, 26. This class is a lot of fun…at some point we end up with dark chocolate peanut M&M’s and shoulder rubs.
I’m in process of making 2 new quilts based on this quilt and have a 3rd in mind. I just need some time to work on them. I’m participating in Linda M Pooles I’m making a quilt for me…and have been so busy with holiday stuff that 15 minutes has been challenging to find!

I’m going to make more of an effort in and among the other quilts I have to make over the next few weeks to take that 15 – 20 minutes and work on the “Twilight in the Bronx” series.
“Twist and Turn Bargello” by Eileen Wright will be offered at Hartdale Fabrics for 3 weeks beginning Saturday Feb 27th 1:oo PM and Monday March 1 beginning at 1:00 pm. This should prove to be quite the fun class. As soon as I have a sample made I will post it here.
I’m also having a series of one day quilt classes 10AM – 4 PM
Saturday January 16
Tuesday January 19
Saturday February 20
Tuesday March 20
In this class bring a project you’re working on that you might need a little help with, start a new project and have a whole day to get started on it. Just let me know what you’re working on so I have a little heads up.
Looking forward to the new year and this very full schedule,
Teri
sounds like fun! If I were closer, I’d love the Bargello class!
Have fun teaching the hand quilting class! I love Jinny Beyer’s book- so many quilters today are intimidated by even the thought of basic hand piecing and quilting, and I love that she shows how step by step, even a first project can be an awesomely gorgeous quilt!
beautiful quilting!!!
