Since starting “Twilight in the Bronx” I’ve known it would be a series. I had no idea where the series would develop, nor did I know the journey these quilts would take.
I’m still thrilled that “Twilight in the Bronx” is the artwork for “Gallimaufry“. As an aside, one of the vocalists from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra came into the shop last week and I offered to quilt cover art for an album cover for them…who knows, it never hurts to ask!
The other night at work I noticed that we have a new bolt of Radiance…
As often happens in strange moments a flash of an idea hit and the beginning of the next two quilts are strongly and firmly in my mind.
I’m loving this journey exploring color, shape and texture with thread. These quilts will have a variety of thread including some silk. I’ve finally played with the Superior Kimono Silk on the machine. It’s truly delightful. This is the first silk thread I’ve used that does not leave some kind of residue in the thread track. I’m going to have to email Bob and thank him for that!
I’ll put up photos of this very soon. Today…I teach a class and play on the Bernina 830.
Happy Quilting!
Teri
love the Trans Siberian Orchestra! Your quilt is very ‘rich’ looking in those deep purples.
your Sassy quilt cut out the edges of your star. I can see one sometime with the edges remaining and the center blocked out into something else.
