An Idea is Developing!

An idea is developing for this quilt and I’m really excited about it.

The idea is similar to “Twilight in the Bronx” and “Moon Over Manhattan” with a little bit of a fun angle.

I’m going to draft it out on paper and practice with some silk thread that I have from a couple of other projects then go for the Kimono Silk from Superior on the Peacock Radiance.

If all goes well this will be my first entry into Houston.

I’ve also mentioned to several people that I have directions for bias binding on my blog here is a link to the first entry and the second entry.  In a week or so I’ll add a page for Tutorials and that will be the first post.

Jeri Riggs has a great tutorial for facing quilts on her blog.  Check it out here.  Facing is a technique where the binding ends up completely on the back of the quilt, this is great for art quilters and whole cloth quilters who want a clean finished edge.

Happy quilting!

Teri

  1. Thanks for the shout out, Teri! I’ve been eyeing that quilt top I showed you ever since you challenged me to finish it…maybe inspiration is sneaking up on me? Thank you!
