Machine Quilters Exposition

MQX is quickly approaching and as I’ve mentioned I’m excited to be part of this years faculty.   I’m teaching:

Wednesday April 11 8:00 – 12 Noon “Beginner Free Motion Quilting”  Take this class to learn the rules of machine quilting needle & thread pairing, tension both machine and physical and we stitch, stitch, stitch!

Thursday April 12 1:00 – 5:00 PM “Let Your Foot Loose Be Fancy & Free” here’s a hint, this class focuses on stitching out machine quilting motifs.  We’ll draw a star on the quilt top and then fill with stitches.  I share a bit about how I designed “Twilight in the Bronx” and “Moon Over Manhattan”.

Saturday April 15 1:00 – 5:00 PM ” And now What?!” here’s a hint, take this class to learn one way to practice machine quilting and figure out what kinds of stitching motifs.  Bring a quilt to class and we can talk about the possibilities for your quilt including thread weight and color!

Here’s a link to the class calendar with the descriptions.  There is still room in each one of these classes and it’s easy to sign up.  I love teaching machine quilting!   I hope to see you there.

Normally “Moon Over Manhattan” is one of the quilts I have with me in class, however it’s been juried in so it’ll be in with the quilts.  “Feather Zone” that Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero & I are competing together with was juried in as well.  We’re excited about this.

On Friday April 14th I’ll be in the Bernina Booth with Karen and crew from Blaine’s Sewing Machine Center in Cranston, RI.  I’m looking forward to working with them.  Please feel free to stop by and see us.

  1. The only day I’ll be there will be Thursday. I’m coming up with some guild friends for the day-I’m not the driver. lol

Hopefully, I’ll run into you during the day.

I will be at Lancaster next week; not sure yet if it’s Thursday or Friday.

  2. Good luck on the judging for your two quilts! Sure wish I could get out there to take classes with you!
