Then there was that time

This text arrived:
I fainted at the HQ Booth (They caught me before I hit) How’s your day?

Lisa and I ditched Ken in the Pickle Pie booth and walked very, very quickly to the HandiQuilter booth to find Debby well taken care of and fine. We did, however, cut her off from any further work. Because cutting off Debby from quilt related work is akin to cutting me off from color. Pain. Full. But clearly, this was the only course open. She reluctantly complied all the while telling us “really I’m fine” and “at least I didn’t break my nose” “it would have been a lovely shade of purple don’t you think?” “the floor wanted to meet me, I passed”

At the airport Debby made arrangements for a wheel chair to get from our arrival gate to our departure gate in Detroit. Not for nothing chemo wears a body out. We made our connections and made it home this morning with no further issues. If we’d tried this on our own we had a good chance on missing our connection to New York.

Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero knocked this out of the freaking park! And I love her for it. As a quilter sometimes getting the things in my head onto fabric is nearly impossible. However with Hoffman’s digital printing, with the depth of color they’re able to achieve. There are three new pieces including the one above that bring a rich bit of fantasy to our quilts. There are so many things that we can do with this new panel from choosing bits and pieces to add to our quilts to making totes, bath robes, skirts, dresses et cetera, et cetera.

And then there’s the Dream Big Panels in the 108” wide fabrics. I mean just swoon. Okay quilt backs, that’s obvious but curtains, quilted curtains adding bright color to dreary winter, shower curtain, totes. There’s another panel I don’t have images of that is the same print in a variety of sizes on 44” wide fabrics the possibilities are mind blowing.
