Earlier this week my Sweetie and I celebrated twenty-nine years as a married couple. We fully expected to be on vacation this week however some things came up… Continue reading Quilted Features

Well, I was going to do a Countdown!
So here it is, The Quilter on Fire Podcast with Brandy https://quilteronfire.com/podcast/Maslowski. Brandy has a YouTube channel that has a preview and a bit of behind the scenesness of it all. Oh My Goodness to say I'm excited it something of an understatement. Each interview I've done promoting Color, Thread & Free-Motion Quilting is different,… Continue reading Well, I was going to do a Countdown!
Oh my goodness this wasn’t easy
Way back on June 6th the saga of the cracked drawer unit made its internet debut under the title of <a href="http://

Cascade. After discovering this crack, and the terrible after effects on my sewing studio caused by the emptying out of it all over the sewing studio floor into bins to… Continue reading Oh my goodness this wasn’t easy
Cascade
That crack at the back of the drawer, splitting the back brace piece explained part of why opening/closing it is difficult. That and the bowing drawer bottoms. Sigh. When I bought this drawer unit it seemed perfect. The drawers are wide, and deep able to accommodate a lot of thread. I did not, however, give… Continue reading Cascade
Color, Thread & Free-Motion Quilting
Color So y'all know life is weird, and when it's really weird I get quiet. Welcome to 2020. In many ways this is a great year. Weekend Miscellany
Last night for a period of time our internet service was out. Our service provider was not the only one effected by whatever happened. Oddly enough my mobile carrier was effected however I had service, which allowed me to get online and do some checking around. We do have the digital antenna so watching the… Continue reading Weekend Miscellany
Quilting/Embroidery Problem Solving

I'd get started stitching and the stabilizer would tear, the thread was building up underneath in a most unbecoming way. Re-threaded, cleaned, oiled, changed the needle, checked the stitch plate. Still happening. I decided to change the… Continue reading Quilting/Embroidery Problem Solving
Quilting This Week
A Name and a Purpose is taking shape and form. Meet "Lenny" in process. The overall look will change over time as the overall idea takes shape. Thread spools sit next to the machine excitedly waving for attention at each thread change. Sometimes they get picked, sometimes I head to the drawer for another color. They'll… Continue reading Quilting This Week
phew
I have this thing where I like to make a friend of mine laugh. It's a good goal. Seriously. And it'd be great if I could remember how this started, but I can see the big 5-0 approaching and yeah, that's not going to come to mind. Several months back she told me about an… Continue reading phew
Quilts Speak
As I worked on this Impractical Color wheel I learned a little something. Giving the motifs a little room to breathe, at least visually, allows the color to speak, and the piece looks a little less crowded. The transition from red to orange is visually tight, reading as a bit overwhelming. The transitions after that… Continue reading Quilts Speak
